Our Quoting Process – Why Ask So Many Questions?

Why do we ask so many questions?
Sometimes, customers call us requesting a quote for a new part and tell us “I just want it anodized (or plated or passivated or polished), do it any way you want” or “Why do you ask so many questions when the other platers don’t?” That’s our point! We are not like other plating companies.
Our “thorough side” of plating approach to metal finishing requires us to identify issues that you may not even be aware of when you first contact us. Does the customer require conformance to a particular specification? Does it need to be RoHS-compliant? What are the testing requirements? What about packaging? How should we ship the part? When do you need it? Do you want a first-article trial run?

METALAST High-Tech Hard Anodizing for Military and Aerospace Enhancement
You may already know that Erie Plating Company serves the military and aerospace industries with hard anodizing. You may not know that we do our hard anodizing using the METALAST licensed process, which offers several important benefits.
These hard anodizing benefits include impressively consistent and reproducible results due to the use of alloy specific built-in programs, as well as newly formulated recipes that can be process verified. METALAST systems also offer improved anodizing speeds with the ability to anodize at higher current densities for a more uniform oxide finish, increased surface hardness, improved wear resistance, smoother surface and enhanced corrosion resistance.
High-Tech Electroless Nickel available!
We currently have available capacity for electroless nickel plating on aluminum die castings on our overhead hoist plating line. In other words, now is a great time to contact us if you need electroless nickel plating done in large capacity, particularly if you need it done extra-fast.
